Overton Beach Exposed
The water level at Lake Mead has dropped fifteen feet over the last year, forcing National Park Service concessionaires at Echo Bay and Overton Beach to continually relocate and adjust their boat launching facilities. Areas which had previously been designated beaches are now well above the current 1174 foot water level. With the lower water level much of the shoreline now has a black muck rather than sand or gravel.

Clark County Rural Standards Near Final Form
Following a generation of problems created by applying urban standards to all of Clark County, which either did not apply or required unnecessary and often unwanted regulations, officials of Clark County finally moved to recognize the inherent differences.

As a result of many meetings and community input, County staff completed the Rural Manufactured House Ordinance. The ordinance has been reviewed by the District Attorney’s office and is now in proper form to be submitted to the Clark County Commissioners.
